 In 1960's Arabia introduced this beautifully designed pattern called 'Valencia' in stoneware with hand painted decoration underglaze in tones of midnight blue. This striking pattern was the masterpiece of it's designer, artist Ulla Procopé (1921-1968), who worked for Arabia from 1948 to 1968. In the beginning 'Valencia' series included e.g. egg cups, bon bonnieres, candle holders, cutting boards which all discontinued in late 1980's. A small part of Valencia tableware was continuous production since it's intriduction until end of the year 2002. On December 31, 2002 the production of Valencia pattern discontinued for good. All Valencia dishes are signed on the bottom with ARABIA Finland and initials of the designer/painter. Pay
